Here's what we'll do for you to get ranked better in the
top search engines:
The first thing we need to begin a project is a list of keyword
phrases you want to rank
higher. We can help you with the choices. Generally speaking, put
yourself in your
customer’s shoes and try to determine what they would type
in a search engine to find
products that you offer. Also, try to come up with more than one
word in each phrase. For
example, ‘emergency life raft’ is much better than ‘boats’.
The point of search engine optimization (SEO) is to get ranked as
high as possible in search
engines (not pay-per-click) when a person types in your chosen keyword
phrases. To
accomplish this we can optimize your existing site and/or new website
pages.
Ideally, you choose to optimize a number of pages for a number
of keyword phrases.
There are a number of things that can be done. The 'behind-the-scenes"
code can be
changed. The copy and some of the layout of the homepage may need
to be changed. Another way to rank better is by creating special
pages specific to each keyword phrase.
Creation:
Optimize pages. Creation may involve changing some of the code on
your home page or
inner pages to be “seen” better by the engines. We can
also create special pages specific
to each keyword phrase.
Submission:
Oak Web Works would then take the home page and any other pages
that we optimize
and manually submit the specific URL's to each of the top search
engines, such as Google, MSN, Yahoo, Lycos, Hot Bot, Netscape, Look
Smart, All The Web, and more.
Tracking:
In order to measure the effectiveness of the marketing efforts,
we track the rankings in the search engines for as long as you want,
and make changes accordingly. We track manually and using software
that lists the ranking of each keyword phrase for each search engine.
This is done using tracking software. Also, rankings get bumped
by other sites doing similar things, so tracking is important to
continue even after a desirable ranking has been achieved. It takes
different search engines different lengths of time to index a Web
site after submission. Some take a week or two, some may take up
to two months. For this reason, it may be better to track for more
than a month.
Monitoring & Reporting:
We then take the reports generated by our tracking software and
post them on the NEt for you to review on a regular basis.
